The song is inspired by Rafael’s childhood in Bani, Dominican Republic and features humorous double-entendre lyrics. “El Plátano Maduro StoneBridge Ibiza Mix” is StoneBridge’s dance mix with vocals for a new direction and sound for Rafael. There is also a multi-award-winning animation video clip of the bachata “El Plátano Maduro”, directed and produced by Jorge M. Merino from Calabozo, Venezuela. It is a story of love and humour that takes place at various locations in the Dominican Republic including Bani, Puerto Plata and Santo Domingo. StoneBridge is a Swedish artist and producer and Dj. He received international acclaim with the remix of the 1993 hit by Robin S “Show Me Love”(StoneBridge Mix); as well as with Tatyana Ali featuring Will Smith –“Boy You Knock Me Out” and his remix for Ne-Yo “Closer” (StoneBridge Club Mix) which received a GRAMMY nomination. StoneBridge hosts his own weekly StoneBridge#bpmMix radio show on Sirius XM/BPM broadcasting to millions every Saturday throughout North America where his name has become synonymous with Saturday night dance music around the globe, as well as his weekly syndicated StoneBridge HKJ show. StoneBridge runs his own record label Stoney Boy Music and the sub-label, Dirty Harry Records. In his early days, StoneBridge created Sweden’s first DJ/Remix company SweMix. Rafael Energía Dominicana (Wilsikin ‘Rafael’ Medina) is a Montreal, Quebec, Canada-based singer, songwriter and producer born in Bani, in the province of Peravia in the Dominican Republic. He performs and composes different genres of Latin-tropical music and is known as a tsunami of energía, a versatile contemporary popular Latin music artist, merenguero and bachatero. Rafael’s debut album Enamorarse en la playa is released on the historic ARC Music Ltd. based in the United Kingdom. With his live orchestra Rafael & Energía Dominicana, he has performed at a variety of prestigious festivals and events in Canada including the Montreal International Jazz Festival, and opening shows for Latin music superstars Elvis Crespo and Gente de Zona among more. Pre-global pandemic, Rafael launched his project in the Dominican Republic including performances on the popular television programs De Extremo a extremo, Bebeto TV and Buena Noche.
