Tainy, Sofia Reyes, Angel Manuel Soto and Ahol Sniffs Glue among notable Latino creatives bringing activation to life

NTERTAIN, led by creative visionary Lex Borrero, announced a unique immersive experience for Miami Art Week titled, “The Art of Being Latin.”  The two-day event scheduled for December 9-10 is a multimedia cultural experience that will feature Latin creators in music, art, film, fashion, and design. 

Borrero’s NTERTAIN, a three-pronged Latino media powerhouse comprised of NEON16, NTERTAIN Studios, and AM16 will take over The Builder’s Collective in the Wynwood section of Miami to host “The Art of Being Latin.” GRAMMY-winning Puerto Rican producer Tainy, Mexican singer Sofía Reyes, Puerto Rican filmmaker Ángel Manuel Soto and Cuban-American, Miami-based visual artist Ahol Sniffs Glue are among the notable Latino creatives that will help bring “The Art of Being Latin” to life through a series of panels, curated art shows, musical performances, film premieres and more.

The robust event will provide opportunities for art enthusiasts, culturalists and aficionados to get a taste of “The Art of Being Latin” in a free-flowing gallery ambiance that includes exhibits and panel discussions, live performances, DJs and more that will bring an exclusive VIP element to the culturally impactful event. Guests will also enjoy specially crafted CÎROC and Buchanan’s Whisky cocktails to celebrate the multi-hyphenate Latin creators and artists who are actively shaping and disrupting culture.

Day 1 of “The Art of Being Latin” will be headlined by an exclusive conversation with Tainy and an insider’s look at Ángel Manuel Soto’s “Blue Beetle,” as well as a performance by NEON16’s own rising Dominican star RMAND while presentations featuring Miami artist Ahol Sniffs Glue and Mexican-Panamanian creative Danny Hastings round out Day 2 programming. CRAFTING THE CELEBRITY IMAGE – DEC. 9

An insightful panel discussion featuring Storm Pablo, one of the world’s most renowned stylists, known for his work with icons like Bad Bunny and Jack Harlow, and Lex Borrero, the CEO of NEON16, this discussion will delve into the art of shaping a celebrity’s public persona and its broader impact on culture. The panelists will explore how fashion and personal style play pivotal roles in an artist’s identity and cultural influence. Storm will share his journey, highlighting challenges and breakthrough moments, providing a unique perspective on the industry’s dynamics. WOMEN IN ENTERTAINMENT – DEC. 9

An inspiring panel discussion presented by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood that celebrates the incredible contributions of women in the realms of arts, creativity, and entertainment. Mexican singer Sofia Reyes headlines a group of distinguished panelists accomplished in various fields that will share their experiences, challenges, and triumphs, shedding light on the evolving landscape for women in the industry. Discover how these trailblazers are shaping narratives, challenging norms, and paving the way for future generations. This conversation, moderated by Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood’s Estefania Diaz-Balart, aims to empower, educate, and inspire a new wave of creativity and innovation.

An exclusive behind-the-scenes exploration of the groundbreaking DC Universe film, “Blue Beetle,” this enlightening panel will delve into the cinematic journey of bringing the first Latino superhero in the DC Universe to life. The panel will feature key figures integral to the film’s creation, including Director Ángel Manuel Soto, a talented actor from the movie, and Hollywood executive producers. This panel promises an in-depth exploration of the artistic, cultural, and industry aspects that converge in the making of “Blue Beetle.” Join us for an insightful conversation about the magic behind the movie, the importance of diverse storytelling, and the impact of representation in the DC Universe.

DECONSTRUCTING “DATA” WITH TAINY – DEC. 9

An exclusive conversation with GRAMMY-winning super producer and creative Tainy as he offers an insider’s look into the making of his GRAMMY-nominated album, “DATA.” Dive deep into the creative process as he deconstructs his audio/visual masterpiece, THE CUBE, a captivating visual journey through the creation and inspiration behind this groundbreaking work. NTERTAIN CEO Lex Borrero moderates a panel that also features talented creative director Elliott Muscat and has a unique artistic touch from artist Mark Rios, best known as Mr. Dripping.

RMAND PERFORMANCE & AFTER PARTY – DEC. 9

Dominican rising star RMAND showcases his talents as a singer, songwriter, producer and performer as only he can. The runner-up on Netflix’s “La Firma, ” RMAND has since dominated the Spotify Dominican Republic Viral Top 50 charts with multiple tracks. RMAND has collaborated with renowned artists such as composing for Rauw Alejandro (EP “Playa Saturno”), Zion y Lennox and Cardi B, showcasing his exceptional talent and original style. With a self-taught musical journey that started at the age of 9, RMAND brings a unique fusion of R&B, Reggaeton, and Caribbean and American trap, while his innovative approach and captivating voice make RMAND a force to be reckoned with.

BRANDING A SUPERSTAR: DESIGNING FEID – DEC. 10

Join renowned stylist Manuela Villada in a passionate conversation about her love for art, the inspiration behind her creativity, and the pressures of delivering results on the world’s biggest stages. Manuela, along with her famous brother, the Colombian reggaeton star known as Feid, are responsible for one of the most recognizable recording artist branding plays in recent memory. Feid’s iconic green outfits, sunglasses, stage designs, album covers, and merchandise have become globally recognized, helping to propel him to superstardom. This conversation will be moderated by marketing genius and VP of AM16 Agency, Cristina Arcay.

FROM MIAMI TO THE WORLD – DEC. 10

This discussion will focus on the transformation of graffiti and doodling from underground movements to recognized and celebrated forms of art. Cuban-American, Miami-born artist, Vic Garcia, known for his unique “doodling” empire and vibrant VGA World, and owner and curator of the Miami Museum of Graffiti, Alan Ket, a pivotal figure in documenting and preserving graffiti art, will share their insights on the evolution of urban art, its cultural significance, and its role in shaping community narratives. They will delve into their personal journeys, the influence of their heritage, and the transition of their art forms into mainstream acceptance. The panel, moderated by Only In Dade’s Cahrlos Hernandez, will also explore how urban art acts as a medium for storytelling and cultural representation, reflecting the vibrant diversity of Latino communities.

ICONIC PHOTOGRAPHY BY DANNY HASTINGS – DEC 10

A creative dynamo, Danny Hastings has designed over 150 album covers and directed over 40 music videos working alongside artists as diverse as P. Diddy, Taylor Momsen, Marc Anthony, Jodeci, Wu-Tang Clan, Eminem, KRS-One, Jay-Z, A Tribe Called Quest and Jeru the Damaja. Hastings has made an impact in the advertising industry by directing and producing branded content for companies like NASCAR, Sprint, Colgate, Unilever, Samsung, MTV, DraftKings, Nike, Adidas, Coca-Cola, DIAGEO, VIACOM, PEPSI just to name a few. Hastings also founded the annual Official Latino Film Festival to provide opportunities to Latinx filmmakers and actors in the U.S. due to the lack of representation of his community in film and TV. This creative genius gives us insight to his work that has made a lasting impact on the Latino community.

ONE MAN’S TRASH, ANOTHER MAN’S TREASURE – DEC. 10

Renowned Cuban-American, Miami-based visual artist Ahol Sniffs Glue and Lex Borrero, CEO of NEON16, converse about Ahol’s innovative project, ‘GEOGRAPHIES OF TRASH,’ where he transforms over 4,000 pieces of trash collected across Miami into striking art pieces and NFTs, drawing attention to both environmental and social themes. The project, spanning three years and over 12,600 miles, is a testament to Ahol’s commitment to community engagement and artistic expression. The discussion will delve into Ahol’s journey as a self-taught, first-generation Cuban-American artist, his experience at the FIU Ratcliffe Art + Tech Incubator, and the entrepreneurial spirit driving his art. Lex Borrero will share insights on collecting Ahol’s work, reflecting on the intersection of art and Latin culture, and how they collectively bring their city and heritage into the spotlight. The panel will also highlight the project’s impact, including recognition through proclamations and media attention, and its role in fostering a community through its Discord channel with over 2,200 members.

“THE ART OF BEING LATIN” CLOSING PARTY – DEC. 10

The cultural power and influence of NTERTAIN is in full force as NEON16, NTERTAIN STUDIOS and AM16 curate a one-of-a-kind celebration of Latino greatness featuring performances and DJs that cap off the weekend in a memorable way.

“The Art of Being Latin” is open to the public on December 9 from 4 PM to 1 AM and the free-flowing gallery comes back to life on December 10 from 4 PM until 1 AM.
