Born Maringely Lopez in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Mari Angeli Lopez is a versatile recording artist, actress, andentertainer whose career spans Freestyle, Dance, Bachata, Latin Pop, and EDM-inspired music. Raisedbetween Puerto Rico and Brooklyn, New York, Mari developed a deep appreciation for music andperformance at an early age while being raised by her single mother after her parents separated during herchildhood.
Inspired by her mother, a gifted vocalist who performed in church and local bands, Mari’s love for musicblossomed as she sang in her living room using a hairbrush as a microphone. The song was later reimagined as a bachata duet featuringKelvin Perez Macario of Grupo Aurora, becoming one of the earliest Urban Freestyle and Bachata crossoverconcepts.
