Diana Burco, the Colombian singer-songwriter and accordion player, is known for her deep cultural fluency and wide-ranging contemporary explorations that showcase Colombia’s rich heritage. She is set to release her new single “Mal Amores” from her third album, co-produced by Colombian record label Codiscos, on March 10th. The track is a beautiful ode to cumbia, a fusion of contemporary elements and traditional Colombian cumbia that will make people dance and enjoy. Burco, who has been twice nominated for a Latin Grammy, will officially present “Mal Amores” during her showcase at SXSW in Austin, Texas. According to Burco, “the immense Caribbean coast, with its colors, its flavors, its sounds, have always marked the times in my music, in the love for Colombia, the accordion and the queen: La Cumbia”.
