“Colibrí” – Spanish for hummingbird – is a love song, inspired by the figure of the hummingbird in Mexican culture, where it is worshiped as it represents the fallen warriors and their resurrection. With the metaphor used in the song, a parallel is created between the hummingbird and love, in the arrival of one person to the life of another person, knowing that both are free and that it’s not possible to lock free spirits in sentimental cages. This song, which is the second single from Diamante Eléctrico’s next album, has a great influence from Bill Withers and it is a perfect bridge between Mexico and Colombia, with a seventies beat creating a musical link between the musical cultures of both countries.
