123 Andrés are Christina and Andrés, the Latin Grammy-winning duo that captivates children and
families in Spanish and English.
With three books under their belts (published by Scholastic) and millions of kids bopping to their music and videos, 123 Andrés launch a brand new album with a star-studded lineup: Actívate.
Rubén Blades, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Los Rabanes, La Mosca Tse-Tse, and Felipe Pelaez are just some of the legends of Latinx Music who lend their talents to this hour-long joyride that inspires families to get moving.
All of the album’s proceeds support children and youth. The Actívate Scholarship (La Beca Actívate) empowers a youth from an underinvested neighborhood in Colombia to study music for a
year, with the CAKIKE Foundation. Actívate also supports important work in Venezuela where EL
ALMA NO TIENE DISCAPACIDAD provides music experiences to special needs children and youth.
Christina was raised in the US, in a Spanish-speaking family hailing from Colombia, and studied theater and dance as a child. After serving as a classroom teacher in public schools and earning a Masters in Education from Penn, she found her mission teaching through music.
Andrés grew up in Bogotá, Colombia, and learned to play the guitar from his father as a child. He studied clarinet at the Conservatory and went on to earn a Doctorate in music and win first prize in the National Composition Contest in Colombia for one of his early songs.
