Self-taught musician much influenced by his culture, Mr.LO is a complete and independent artist, coming from Dominican Republic and now living in the USA. Born in 1982, Starlin Rafael Lopez grew up in the area of Moca, Dominican Republic before he migrated to the city of New York, at the age of 10. While living in the Bronx, he was exposed to his very first understanding of music and started to learn the xylophone. Two years later, he moved to Washington, DC. At 16 years old, Mr.LO realized the power of music and cultivated further his passion, learning
how to play the guitar and getting closer to the genre of Bachata. Bringing his music to as many people as possible and sharing his enjoyment through it, is a daily objective to Mr.LO. His family, friends and the Dominican American culture influenced his art of music a lot.
He listened to artists and groups like the Wu-Tang Clan, Bone Thugs and Harmony and Aventura, which brought him nowadays to a musical genre mixed of reggaeton and R&B, latin pop with also an urban tone. Under the record label Sony BMG, Starlin recorded two albums called “FDL” and “World Tour” with Grupo Optimo as a key member and lead guitarist. A few of their radio hits include, «Falta Amor», «Conectate» and «El Cuchillo» among others.
2020 is announcing Mr.LO’s grand return and a solo artist as he’s releasing a new single on June 22nd : « Mi Cama Esta Vacía » discuss the struggles of moving on after a sentimental and intimate relationship has ended. The lyric video is bringing the light into the dark atmosphere left after the loved one’s gone away.
