Los Rakas team up with rising Dominican-American star Amara La Negra

on their Newly Released Single “Devorame” under Delicious Vinyl Island

Los Rakas the bilingual, California-by-way-of-Panama duo known for their seamless blend of hip-hop, reggaeton and dancehall, and Amara La Negra (Love and Hip Hop: Miami) pair up on this      scorching new single “Devorame,.

The track had its world premiere via Ebro Darden’s Beats1 radio show, followed by an exclusive premiere of the “Devorame” video on Remezcla.

“Devorame,” a sultry reggaeton banger which translates in English as “devour me,” appears on Los Rakas’ upcoming album, Manes De Negocio. The group’s second full-length LP and their first in three years, Manes De Negocio is out May 10 via Delicious Vinyl Island.

Manes De Negocio combines the Los Rakas’ already eclectic musical blend with a sound that’s firmly in step with today’s exploding Latin Trap movement. “Even though it’s a trend now, we’ve been doing this,” says Raka Dun.

The pairing of Los Rakas and Amara La Negra marks the initial collaboration between two acts who are leading the way for Afro-Caribbean representation in Latin music, unapologetically encouraging Latinos and Latinas to rep their heritage.

“Amara La Negra is an icon for Afro Latinas,” says Raka Dun. “We love her style and how she reps the culture. Los Rakas and Amara together are just plain obvious, it had to happen.”

Los Rakas are currently on a US and Latin American Tour promoting their new single and upcoming album.  Some of their shows include performances in New York, Houston, Miami, Los Angeles, Colombia and their hometown of Panama.

ABOUT LOS RAKAS

Hailing from Oakland by way of Panama, cousins Raka Rich and Raka Dun formed Los Rakas over a decade ago, inspired by their experiences growing up between cultures. Deriving their name from rakataka, a term used in Panama to brand someone poor, the duo flipped the slur into a badge of honor and lifestyle, inspiring peers across Latin America and the Caribbean to take up the Raka mantle. Their deep catalog of mixtapes and official releases have earned them endorsements from tastemakers and icons ranging from Diplo to Blondie. They met their managers, Adrian L. Miller (Anderson. Paak, Mereba) and Orlando Aguillen (The Baka Boyz, Slick), who in turn connected the Delicious Vinyl Island partnership.
