Growing up in Los Angeles, California, LEYO spent much of his childhood listening to the superstars of Spanish romance music and mimicking their suave style of singing. As he grew up, he continued to develop his voice – honing in on the ability to convey an emotional story with his music, while staying true to his Mexican roots.
LEYO made a name for himself on season five of Telefutura’s singing competition show, “Objetivo Fama.” Thanks to his charismatic character, he quickly became a fan favorite and with the guidance of music executives, LEYO skyrocketed to the semi-finals. LEYO made a guest appearance on Hulu’s hit show “East Los High” where his song “Vete Con El” was featured. He also recently partnered with Ford Motors and BYG Music to participate in their official social media campaign focused on emerging Latin Artists.
With his novella star looks, infectious laugh, and outgoing personality, LEYO has become a regular face for national campaigns and one of Puerto Rico’s favorite TV personalities on “Sin Editar.”
In 2020, LEYO stormed the stage at the Cali-Bash pre-concert festival at the Staples Center in Los Angeles where he performed to a sold out crowd of over 20,000. He is currently working on his debut EP, which is Executive Produced by Maluma’s Grammy Winning Producer/Songwriter Edgar Barrera. The project will feature collaborations with some of latin music’s sexiest artists, including Helen Ochoa and Domino Saint.
