Joel Y La Uni-K “La Corona”

Joel Torres is a Saxophonist, Pianist, percussionist, bassist, background vocalist, songwriter, producer, and arranger. He holds an undergraduate degree in music from The City College of New York and a masters in Music from Lehman College. He was born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Bronx. From an early age Joel grew a passion for Merengue music as he was learning to play the saxophone. During his early years music years, Joel played with many local and famous merengue bands. During his college days Joel teamed with his High School friend to form “La Banda Uni-K” Later two other singers were added to the family. La Banda Uni-K was together from the mid to late 90’s. Today, the original three members are back! With “La Corona”
