The percussionist, band leader, and producer, Eric German Rodríguez was born on 16 February in Massachusetts – the only son who procreated Luz Rodriguez and Freddy German.
It was at home that Eric at the age of 3, began to show interest in music. He was 6 years old when he fell in love with the timbales after seeing a concert on TV of the King, Tito Puente. From there, Eric began taking timbale, bongo and conga lessons with his uncle, mentor and godfather, Edwin Rodriguez.
At the age of 10, he began participating in various community activities. At that age, he shared the stage and sat in with artists such as Luisito Carrión, Paquito Jr. Acosta and Hector Tricoche.
At the age of 14, his professional career begins to take a new step when he integrates into a local orchstra called ‘La Seleccion Perfecta’. Eric lasted 10 years in this orchestra and at one point served as the musical director.
Over the years Eric has been able to share and accompany many great artists such as; Cheo Feliciano, Andy Montañez, Ismael Miranda, Tony Vega, Maelo Ruiz, Jerry Rivera, Tito Nieves, Charlie Aponte, N’Klabe, NG2, among other legendary Salsa artists.
Eric has presented himself at some of the most renowned Jazz venues, festivals and lounges In New England and New York.
Eric along with his timbales have joined forces to form their first album and, in the summer of 2018, launched his first single titled, “Piel Morena”.
In January 2019, Eric German and his orchestra released their most recent single and video, Asi Es La Vida featuring Fabian Torres. The video has received great acceptance among his followers surpassing the 200,000 views on Facebook in just one week.
