El Condado De La Salsa y Jazz Latino looks at Distrito Salsa “Mi Forma De Pensar”by Nelson Rodriguez

In my recent column I mention vocalist Marcial Isturiz as one of the most invited guest vocalists being asked to perform on many other projects. This time around he unites forces with Venezuelan percussionist Luis ‘El Pana’ Tovar as Distrito Salsa and is co-producer. “Mi Forma De Pensar” is the second EP release by ‘El Pana’ who has also had two solo projects of his own.

Distrito Salsa, from Calgary, Canada opens with the hot track “Pa’Lante” that also features Isturiz on piano, as vocalist and as arranger. “Mi Forma De Pensar”, “Los Ingredientes” & “Regresa Ya” are sure shot hits that will make many playlists at radio, online radio shows and clubs.

Of note is the instrumental track “Gofiote” arranger by Hall of Famer Joel Uriola who is featured on piano along with trumpeter Gustavo Aranguren and timbalero Luis ‘El Pana’.

Luis ‘El Pana’ Tovar has been making a name for himself in the past six years and this venture with Isturiz will be a huge leap for him in 2020.
