A name that has inspired thousands of deep house producers returns with his new album entitled “II”. Originally from France, now living in Barcelona, Soul Minority has been a serious contributor to the deep house genre for the last 10 years. A long standing artist on Kolour Recordings, his signature sound can be heard in nightclubs all over the world.
“I like to make solid and coherent music that reflects my music taste: house, disco and soul. But I will say that definitely house music is the DNA of all my tracks. I’m a music addict. At home I listen to an amazing variety of artists and styles. Lots of 60’s and 70’s soul. I think my favorite producers are Brian Wilson, Lamont Dozier and Brian & Eddie Holland. “I use Ableton live for production, and Logic Pro for mastering along with some extra hardware. I love to use a mix of digital and analog gear. It’s really helped me develop my sound over the years because I don’t want to sound like everybody else.
Recently an early classic “Always There” feat Nathalie Claude was remixed by New York veteran Norty Cotto and licensed by Defected Records UK for their Ibiza 2016 compilation. The track received support from a who’s who of the house music world. Todd Terry, Mark Farina, Kiko Navarro, Miguel Migs, Motor City Soul, Mr V, Nathan G, Luke Solomon, Simon Dunmore, Oscar P, Shur-i-Kan, and Sunshine Jones.
“II” will drop in late June, 2016 on Kolour Recordings. For the past 8 years, Kolour has been a home to such diverse artists as KiNK, Kruse & Nuernburg, and Delano Smith, to name a few.
